TSSF Study and Prayer Enabling Group
The Study and Prayer Week at St. Francis Friary, Alnmouth takes place from Monday 28 September 2015 from 4.00pm and leaving after breakfast on Friday 2 October 2015 (approx. 10am)
This year we are taking a closer look at St. Clare and contributions of presentations in any form (papers/art & craft/poetry/pictorial etc.) are most welcome.
Please contact: Helen Hood at email@example.com
putting TSSF S & P in the subject line
Study and Prayer requests a payment of £160 per person for the week and this will donated to the Friary. Payment can be made at the event and gift aid forms will also be available. PLEASE NOTE Chapter does not want anyone to be excluded so if there are financial constraints people should let Helen know, no one should be prevented from coming because of cost.
We will be sharing in the life and worship of the First Order Brothers at the Friary. We work closely together, and as many of the brothers as are able join in the sessions. This enables a deepening of vocations and companionship between us and encourages on-going formation. Prayer is an integral part, encouraging and focussing thinking and discussion.
During the Study and Prayer Weekend at Freeland the group looked for images to photograph to illustrate The Canticle of the Creatures. This helped us see how inclusive the Canticle is and how God may speak to us through all of creation. A selection of photos, sometimes touching, sometimes quite eccentric, was edited to a simple setting of the canticle. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQQXo7ybIuY

Election of the Provincial Treasurer and Trustee of TSSF European Province
In the election for which voting closed earlier this week, 358 votes were cast, being 19% of professed Tertiaries (at the start of voting).
- 201 votes were cast for John Lovatt
- 157 votes were cast for John Wotherspoon
so that JOHN LOVATT is elected to serve from the end of the June 2015 meeting of Provincial Chapter.
Chris Petrie, returning officer, on behalf of Provincial Chapter.
The Order owes a considerable debt to the candidates who were led to offer themselves for this demanding role and heartfelt thanks are offered to John and to John. A number of those who voted, commented on the difficulty of choosing between two candidates whose talents and experience fitted them so well for the office. If that is a reason why you did not vote, you may be forgiven this once, but please vote next time. Better than that, consider whether you are called to offer yourself to serve the Order at Area or Provincial level.
The idea of making the election addresses of Chapter members available during their time of service on Chapter has met with agreement of those who have been asked so far. John Lovatt’s election address has been on the web during voting and will continue to be available. Those of other officers will appear, with their permission. We hope this will help to make Chapter seem more human and approachable – none of us bite (as far as I know).
Chris Petrie, Communications Coordinator, European Province
